The Young Pianists – Level I

Class description:

This course is for the beginning piano students. Absolutely no prior musical experience or note reading is required. This program is designed for children ages 6-7 who are not yet ready for weekly private lessons. The weekly class consists of two closely related parts and contains a variety of concepts and experiences.

In the first part of the lesson the appropriate curriculum emphasizes the development of basic music vocabulary and basic music theory to provide the student with the necessary tools of musicianship.

The major orientation is to the keyboard, keyboard-playing hand position, and keyboard related vocabulary established familiarity with the keyboard.

The second part (Optional) is designed to reinforce the material covered with the focus on the additional course of integrated arts - Music History through the Art (See the course description)

Each semester is concluded with a mini-concert featuring future music starts!

Over the course of this program the children will learn to play the first piano music with confidence. The music will vary according the student’s skills level.

The Young Pianists-II

Class description:

This course is designed for the piano students having the experience of playing the piano and having the basic knowledge of the music theory. This program is designed for children ages 6-7, 8-9 who are not yet ready for weekly private lessons. The weekly class consists of two closely related parts and contains a variety of concepts and experiences. The further development of the achieved mastery of piano playing is the agenda of the first part of this course. The emphasis will be on the improving the technical skills and sight reading of the piano music, on understanding and demonstrating classical piano literature from four major musical periods. The music will vary according the student’s skills level.

Each semester is concluded with a mini-concert featuring future music starts!

By the end of this course, students are well on their way to enjoying a lifetime of piano playing enjoyment.
