Nationally
and internationally recognized pianist, Damira Feldman was born in the Republic
of Tatarstan, Russia, and started studying piano at the age of ten. She entered the legendary Special School for the gifted children affiliated
with the Kazan State Conservatory at
the age of 13.
Ms. Feldman attended the Kazan
State Conservatory (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia). She studied piano at the
class of Professor Natalia Fomina. She was awarded the Diploma with Honors from
the Kazan State Conservatory of Music and was recommended to continue for a Doctorate in the Performing Arts and Pedagogy. After graduating with a
degree as “Soloist and Leader of an Orchestra, Piano Teacher and Chamber
Orchestra Musician”, Ms. Feldman began her career as a piano teacher at the
Kazan Academy, while also performing as a piano soloist with the Kazan Symphony
Orchestra.
In 1993 Ms.
Feldman left the musical world and her home country to pursue a new
career in international business in Israel.
In 2001
destiny presented Ms. Feldman with a new opportunity and she moved to the
United States where she re-established her reputation as a classical
musician and a teacher. During
the past 16 years she has presented keyboard solo performances as well
as master classes in Russia, the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom.
Ms. Feldman’s live piano performances and interviews appeared
on WXEL 90.7FM “Classical Variations” as well as were cablecast
on SIB TV Channel 77, FL during
the Seasons 2010-2014.
In 2007 she has founded the Piano Concert Series at
Steinway Piano Galleries and in 2016 Maui Outstanding Piano Amateurs Festival which organizes
recitals, master classes and soirees for amateur pianists from around the world.
Prior to her teaching at University of Hawaii, Maui College, Ms.
Feldman was teaching Piano, Theory, Ear Training and Music Appreciation at the Visual and Performing Arts Academy, Broward College, FL and privately at DFMusic Studio. Based on
her research program of integrated arts, she implements its unique methods in the experimental classes at several Learning academies.
Ms. Feldman is
honored with Residency at the
University of South Carolina to conduct the Master classes and lectures to
students from USCA and perform Solo Recitals at USC Aiken’s Etherredge
Center.
Her ability to recognize and commitment to nurture young talents are
obvious reasons for her being invited to join panels of jurors of various
national piano competitions organized by Music National Teachers
Association, USA. Ms. Feldman remains
active in several professional organizations, serving as a member of MNTA, FTA
and AGO.
